Life in Great Falls After the Storm

Life in Great Falls begins to return to normal as power is restored and shops open.  I saw more people

walking in Great Falls than ever – in the roads, however, since there  are minimal to nonexistent sidewalks .  Even if they were there, they were covered in 30″

of snow.  Nesting seemed to be rampant as people cooked, shoveled and retreated in their homes, kids   having withdrawal from technology if their homes had no power.  I love the snow and the quiet peace it gives me as the phone quiets except for people from away checking in to see that we’re ok.

Yes, I did have several calls from people asking if driveways were plowed on some of the homes I have for sale and several advertised as OPEN SUNDAY.  NO GUILT!  Sorry, it can’t be shown today but I’ll be happy to call you back and schedule as soon as it is.

I took some great photographs and video as we ventured outside the neighborhood to Great Falls, VA and over to Reston to the Giant.  Reston is a very walkable community and there were people out with cameras, strollers, skis – very walkable under normal circumstances, but because sidewalks were still covered everyone was forced to walk in the streets.

Join me here on https://LivingInGreatFAlls.wordpress.com Blog posting your photos and stories about LIVING IN GREAT FALLS and post ads or community events on my FREE website www.LivingInGreatFalls.com    The entire Business Directory for Great Falls, VA is posted there, as well as school information, community pictures, classified ads.              Until then, enjoy the tranquil surroundings before the snow turns to brown, the trees have to be pruned, cars washed, kids have to be up before dawn, and…….more shoveling because Tuesday forecast is 6″-10″ MORE SNOW and Life in Great Falls After the storm will still be a good life.
